Sahmyook University has entered into an international exchange Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College (山东城市建设职业学院) in China. This partnership will support an “invited exchange student program” and a “Korean language short-term training course.”

Per the agreement, Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College will select top students, known for their strong academic performance and Korean language skills, to study at Sahmyook University as exchange students. Additionally, both institutions will facilitate short-term Korean language training programs at Sahmyook University during summer and winter breaks, enhancing students’ language skills and cultural understanding.

Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College, situated in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, is a public institution jointly operated by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The college is known for its focus on architecture, offering 43 specialized majors and enrolling over 13,000 students.

Since 2021, Sahmyook University and Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College have successfully collaborated on a “Sino-foreign cooperative program,” a Chinese Ministry of Education initiative. This program involves a comprehensive partnership, from student recruitment to curriculum implementation.

The two institutions offer a “3+1 Associate Degree in Architectural Design” program. Students complete three years at Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College, earning an associate degree, and then transfer to Sahmyook University’s four-year Architecture Department for their final year. Upon completion, they receive a bachelor’s degree from Sahmyook University. Currently, 109 students are participating in this program.

Sahmyook University President Jae Haejong expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The success of the ‘Sino-foreign cooperative program’ over the past three years has paved the way for expanding our international exchange initiatives. We are excited to include the ‘invited exchange student’ and ‘Korean language short-term training’ programs. Our aim is to leverage Sahmyook University’s top-notch educational resources to nurture talented individuals with global perspectives and specialized skills.”

Hu Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, commented, “We are committed to sending our best students to Sahmyook University. We look forward to broadening and deepening our international exchanges based on mutual benefit, equality, and a focus on student development.”

Sahmyook University continues to strengthen its global reach, actively engaging in international exchanges and maintaining sister university agreements with 151 institutions worldwide.
